Which qualifications or which school diplomas are relevant is ALWAYS assessed by the university of applied sciences.

Check your pre-university education directly with the FH – they will inform you whether you are eligible to attend the preparation courses for foreign students.

The learning objectives and contents for English and Mathematics correspond to those relevant for the business studies university entrance examination. We place particular emphasis on subject-specific knowledge in English (Level C1) and Mathematics (Level 1), which are required for the first bachelor’s semester.

With the assessment by the university of applied sciences that the qualifications or school education is relevant to the subject and passing the supplementary exams at the examination levels English C1, and Mathematics 1 the formal prerequisites for studying at a university of applied sciences are then met.

However, this does not give you any guarantee for the actual receipt of a study place. The prerequisite for obtaining a study place is always the positive completion of the admission procedure at the respective university of applied sciences.

Please ensure that the university of applied sciences confirms BEFORE the start of the course that, in combination with your prior education and the fit4fh courses, you are eligible to study at the following two FHs (for all other FHs, please inquire separately in advance if necessary):

Learning content

You will be professionally prepared for your future university of applied sciences studies in 3.5 months.

You will be optimally prepared for the supplementary exams in English, and Mathematics, which are required for admission without a high school diploma according to § 4 (7) FHG.

You have the opportunity to learn how to “learn” again, especially if you graduated several years ago, allowing you to test your future time management regarding work and studies.

The courses are conducted as distance learning events (live video meetings, downloads, etc.) combined with some in-person sessions (kick-off event per subject, final practice session before exams, final exams).

ENGLISH

Business English – Level C1 of GER (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages):

Grammar: modal verbs, tenses, conditionals, passive voice, reported speech, adverbs and adjectives
Listening Skills: I can understand authentic texts; I can use a variety of listening strategies and listening techniques
Reading Skills: I can understand authentic texts (newspaper articles); I can use a variety of reading strategies and reading techniques
Writing Skills: Personal email; Letter of application: Argumentative essay
Speaking Skills: I can speak about the topics dealt with in class using the vocabulary of the course book; I can use the grammar dealt with in the course correctly; I can discuss about a topic, express arguments and use agreement phrases to come to a conclusion in a dialogue

You will attend the Distance Learning B2 English Program of “Studieren ohne Matura” and additional Zoom-Meetings will be held to upgrade you to Level C1.

You will also receive additional literature to be able to upgrade to Level C1.

You will attend the Distance Learning Mathematics Program of “Studieren ohne Matura” in German language and receive additional explanations, learning-videos and literature in English language.

Examination Modalities

The written final exams will definitely take place in person in Vienna and will be conducted by the respective examiners as well as a second reader.
